Whispers in the Quiet Mind

Whispers in the Quiet Mind

Soha Tariq

BS Textile Design (5th Semester)

In the quiet corners of her mind,

She danced with shadows, left the light behind.

Avoiding chaos, she sought retreat,

In thoughts where every outcome felt complete.

A world she crafted, perfect and bright,

Where success wrapped her in peaceful night.

Yet deep within, a whisper would confide,

That she was merely fooling herself inside.

A lack of confidence, a heavy shroud,

Her decisions drowned beneath others' loud.

In seeking guidance, she lost her way,

Turning mentors to idols, in disarray.

Each bond became a lesson, not a friend,

Her heart confined, reluctant to transcend.

For every truth, a labor she'd deny,

With courage buried, she’d choose to fly.

Living in a false reality's embrace,

Far easier than truth's demanding face.

Resilience needed, yet fear held her tight,

Terrified of foolishness in the light.

So she chose avoidance, a familiar song,

Hiding from the issues that felt so wrong.

But in that silence, her spirit would wane,

A life unlived, caught in the refrain.
