Bilingualism is a term used by linguistics like other terms. To understand its meaning it is necessary to be aware of monolingual. According to “Cambridge Advance Lerner’s Dictionary”   3rd edition “speaking or using only one language” is called monolingual. There is no simple definition of bilingualism.
